Rough Header
Rough Header (R/H) is a type of sawmill machine used in the timber industry to create rough sawn timber. Rough sawn timber is wood that has been sawn from logs into rough, unfinished boards, without further processing such as planing or sanding.
The Rough Header machine is used to create rough sawn timber with a specific profile, such as the familiar "V" shape often seen on the top and bottom edges of timber. The machine uses multiple blades to cut the timber into the desired profile, and the resulting rough sawn boards can be used for a variety of construction and building purposes.
Rough sawn timber is often used for applications where appearance is not a primary concern, such as in framing, flooring, or other structural applications. The rough surface of the timber provides better traction for nails and screws, and the natural grain and texture of the wood can give a rustic or traditional look to a building or construction project.
